Architecture association elects new board of directors

The Grand Rapids Chapter of the American Institute of Architects elected new leadership and board members for the 2026 term. Doug Campbell of Whitewater Design has been elected as the new President, with John Den Boer from TowerPinkster serving as Vice President. Anne Doornbos of TowerPinkster will assume the role of Past President.

Joining the board this year as new Chapter Directors are Christian Antonini of Builders Exchange of Michigan, Geoff McDaniel of Fishbeck, and Michael Van Schelven of Wolverine Building Group.

The Board of Directors also consists of Joe Harmon from Fishbeck as Treasurer, Ben Franceschi of Mathison | Mathison Architects as Secretary, Matthew Christie from Mathison | Mathison Architects serving as AIA Michigan Director, Sarah Carter from Ware Malcomb, Jordan Johnson of GMB, and Matthew VanSweden from Progressive Companies.

Since 1923, AIA Grand Rapids, a local component of the American Institute of Architects, has advocated for the value of architecture and provides architects with the resources they need to do their best work through educational opportunities, government advocacy, community redevelopment, and public outreach to support the architecture profession.
