Holiday light display receives national recognition

Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park has received another national honor. ENLIGHTEN at Meijer Gardens, presented by PNC Bank, was named one of the top 10 winners for Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights Display in the United States by the USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards.

The USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards celebrate the finest attractions, destinations, and experiences across the United States. Following a rigorous selection process, guided by a panel of experts and a public voting period, ENLIGHTEN at Meijer Gardens secured the #3 spot, representing Michigan as the only nominee from the state and surpassing other renowned botanical gardens across the country.

“Being in the top 10 for this award is such an honor for Meijer Gardens in only our second year of hosting ENLIGHTEN, a testament to the excellence of this enthralling holiday light spectacle that has quickly become a holiday tradition,” said Carol Kendra, Chief Operating Officer of Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. “If you haven’t seen it yet, we encourage families to put this on your must-do list this winter.”

The top 10 winners for Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights Display were shortlisted from an initial list of 20 nominations as the best in the United States that were curated by a panel of subject matter experts and USA TODAY 10Best editors before being voted on by the public.

“These accolades reaffirm Meijer Gardens’ standing as a premier travel destination for both family and group travel, attracting art and nature enthusiasts globally to see one of the finest horticultural display gardens and sculpture parks,” added Kendra.
