Hopelynd, a new Grand Rapids-based nonprofit dedicated to shaping a welcoming space where creativity, compassion, and community come together, is inviting the community to its inaugural event, Value, a first-of-its-kind art show and silent auction celebrating the talents of children living with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities. The event will take place Saturday, November 8, from 5 to 6 p.m., at 61 Commerce Avenue SW in Grand Rapids.

“Value was born out of our belief that everyone deserves to be seen and celebrated for who they are,” said Kellie Hetler, Co-Founder of Hopelynd. “This show invites the community to celebrate differences and empower children with disabilities and to witness how creativity can bridge differences and open hearts.”

Guests are encouraged to attend and experience a multi-floor gallery of original artwork created by young artists from across the region. The event includes an opportunity to meet the artists, place bids on one-of-a-kind pieces, and learn about Hopelynd’s long-term vision to build an inclusive photography studio and creative programming space that empowers individuals of all abilities through the arts.

“We wanted to create an event where everyone, regardless of ability, feels welcome to show up, express themselves, and belong,” said Kara Hanes, Co-Founder of Hopelynd. “Value is more than an art show; it’s a glimpse into the disability-inclusive, creative future we’re building together at Hopelynd.”

The celebration will offer thoughtful accommodations such as a sensory-friendly zone for guests who prefer a lower-stimulation environment. Attendees can also enjoy Italian sodas, desserts, a cookie-decorating station, and music provided by a DJ and emcee, all while enjoying an atmosphere of welcoming, inclusive hospitality. Proceeds from the silent auction will directly benefit both the featured artists and Hopelynd’s mission to expand accessible art and photography opportunities in West Michigan.

Admission details and ticketing are available online, and those unable to attend in person can still participate in the silent auction virtually. To learn more, visit https://hopelynd.com/value-by-hopelynd.
