The American Institute of Architects has elevated Michael Perry, Principal of Progressive Companies, to its prestigious College of Fellows, the organization's highest membership honor, recognizing exceptional work and contributions to architecture and society.

The fellowship program recognizes architects who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession and made significant contributions to architecture and society at the national level. Architects elevated to fellowship carry the FAIA designation after their name.

"Receiving FAIA is an extraordinary honor and a moment of profound gratitude. To me, it represents both recognition and responsibility – a responsibility to continue advancing thoughtful, equitable design, mentoring emerging professionals, and contributing to a profession that shapes how people live, work, and connect," said Perry. "This distinction reflects the many mentors, colleagues, clients, and community partners who have influenced this journey.  Architecture is inherently collaborative, and I share this recognition with all of them."

Since 1923, AIA Grand Rapids, a local component of the American Institute of Architects, has advocated for the value of architecture and provided architects with resources to support their work through educational opportunities, government advocacy, community redevelopment, and public outreach.
