Restaurant announces renovations and menu updates

Jose Babushka’s will refresh its restaurant experience, including renovations, an updated menu, and new screens for sports and entertainment. The restaurant, located at 2232 Wealthy St SE in East Grand Rapids, will temporarily close for renovations beginning February 22 and is expected to reopen in mid-March.

The updates will include a refreshed interior, expanded menu offerings, and enhancements designed to elevate the guest experience while preserving longtime favorites.

“What a ride it’s been, packed with unforgettable memories, many laughs, and the incredible community that has grown with us,” said the Kavo family, owners of Jose Babushka’s, in a Facebook post. “We’re truly grateful for every one of you who has shared a meal, a moment, or a margarita or two with us.”

The updated menu will continue to feature signature items such as house-made salsa, “Your Mama’s Tacos,” and the restaurant’s iconic Buenos Noches, alongside new additions including shareables, burgers, wings, sandwiches, wraps, and salads.

Owners say the renovation reflects their commitment to evolving with their customers while maintaining the atmosphere and flavors that have defined Jose Babushka’s since opening.

“You asked, we listened,” the family added. “We’re beyond excited for what’s coming. Here’s to the next generation of Jose’s.”
