City of Grand Rapids to host buyer-business exchange

The City of Grand Rapids Office of Equity & Engagement will host Connect Local GR – Buyers & Business Exchange on April 2 at DeVos Place. The event will bring local businesses and major regional buyers together to discuss bid and request-for-proposal opportunities. The free, half-day event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at DeVos Place, 303 Monroe Ave NW.

Connect Local GR – Buyers & Business Exchange is designed to facilitate direct, small-group conversations between businesses and buyers. Participating organizations will host tables while business representatives circulate throughout the room, offering opportunities to ask questions, learn about purchasing needs and better understand how vendors are selected.

Buyers from a range of organizations are expected to participate, including the City of Grand Rapids, Kent County, Corewell Health, Meijer, Gentex, Steelcase, Experience Grand Rapids, and ASM Global.

The event is open to all businesses, with a focus on helping participants better understand procurement processes and build relationships with key decision-makers.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a capabilities statement, a one-page overview of their business, services, and experience, to share with buyers during conversations.
