A city-wide celebration of generosity and social impact will return to Grand Rapids on December 2 with Grand Rapids Giving Day (GRGD). The regional philanthropic movement was created to strengthen local nonprofits through collaboration, innovation, and collective giving. The event will feature the Community Generosity Fair at the Goei Center, where more than 40 nonprofits will host hands-on demonstrations, storytelling sessions, and immersive activations to engage attendees.

The day will culminate with the Social Innovation Pitch at 7:30 p.m., hosted by Startup Grind Grand Rapids and sponsored by Fifth Third Bank. One changemaker will be awarded the $2,500 Social Innovation Award. Judges include Meagan Ward, Wolf Starr, Andrea Wallace, Two Eagles Marcus, and Dr. Anthony Chang.

"Grand Rapids Giving Day matters because generosity accelerates impact," said Erika Plunkett, Supporter & Advisory Board Chair, Grand Rapids Giving Day. "We’ve seen it proven in cities like Austin and throughout the global Giving Tuesday movement. When people come together, the momentum created can lift entire organizations forward. Grand Rapids Giving Day brings that same proven model to our city, amplifying the work of local nonprofits and giving our community a fun, energetic way to make a real difference together.”

The 2024 founding year saw 40 nonprofits participate, engaging 519 donors and more than 30 sponsors to raise over $150,000.  For more information, visit https://www.grgivingday.org/.
