Grand Rapids Rise, West Michigan’s professional volleyball team, will host nearly 2,000 middle school girls at Game Changers, a free empowerment event on December 15 from 9:30–11:30 a.m. at Van Andel Arena. Game Changers will feature women leaders in sports, business, and other fields who will share stories of perseverance, leadership, and possibility to inspire the next generation of young female leaders.
Presented by Lake Michigan Credit Union, Game Changers offers local students in grades 6 through 8 the opportunity to hear from role models who are leading boldly and redefining success on their own terms.
“We are committed to building into young women as they navigate the middle school years,” said Cathy George, Vice President and Head Coach of Grand Rapids Rise. “The team will converse about things like making quality choices, healthy relationships, and recognizing your gifts and your path.”
The event is free and open to schools and youth organizations throughout the region. Registration is open at https://griffinshockey.formstack.com/forms/game_changers_rise_empowerment_event.
