West Michigan entrepreneurs Johnny Brann Jr. and Todd Prescott have acquired Holland-based Great Lakes Window Coverings. The partnership marks a significant shift toward vertical integration as the new co-owners work to expand both commercial and residential services.
Great Lakes Window Coverings, in business since 1972, is recognized for its long-standing reputation for quality window coverings across a variety of industries, including healthcare, education, residential, and hospitality. The company will now operate under the umbrella of Grand Rapids-based contract furniture dealership Interphase Interiors.
The company’s expansion under the new ownership will focus on growth and modernization, all while maintaining strong ties with existing clients and partners.
“We’re excited to usher in this new chapter for Great Lakes Window Coverings,” said Brann. “By combining our expertise in the industry and our commitment to customer satisfaction, we aim to continue delivering exceptional window covering solutions to both residential and commercial markets. Our ultimate goal is to expand our reach, integrate services across sectors, and enhance the customer experience.”
The acquisition includes the existing showroom at Klingman’s Furniture & Design in Holland. This showroom features a full range of window treatments and offers clients the opportunity to experience firsthand the variety of available options. The 3,000-square-foot space is designed to be a hub for both commercial and residential customers, with expert designers ensuring seamless integration with existing décor. All Great Lakes Window Coverings products are now also available at Interphase Interiors locations in Grand Rapids, Traverse City, and Detroit.
As part of this transition, Great Lakes Window Coverings is unveiling a refreshed brand identity that reflects the company’s new ownership and broader market ambitions. The company will maintain its own dedicated website, separate from its parent company, to streamline the customer experience and provide easy online access to products and services.
“The acquisition of Great Lakes Window Coverings allows us to improve operational efficiency and makes it easier for our customers to access our expanding products and services,” Prescott said. “This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for both the company and our loyal customers.”
