Mel Trotter Ministries, the largest provider of services to people experiencing hunger and homelessness in West Michigan, has hired Alicia Wyant as its new Chief Advancement Officer.

In her new role, Wyant will be responsible for developing the strategic vision for Mel Trotter’s branding, marketing, and fundraising activities. She will lead all philanthropic efforts, including major donor engagement and furthering partnerships with foundations, corporations, and individual donors. She will also serve as a member of Mel Trotter’s executive team, with the overarching goal of helping guests transition out of homelessness.

“This is a true calling for me,” said Wyant. “The compassionate work performed by the staff and volunteers at Mel Trotter is essential to our neighbors in need and provides them with comfort and hope, especially during challenging times. Throughout my life – from my family’s faith, my upbringing, my life as a parent, and my career – I have been guided by the goodness of God’s work to help those who need support. I definitely see the Lord’s hand in preparing me for this.”

Wyant previously served in executive roles with WCSG Radio, a Christian station affiliated with Cornerstone University.

“Alicia displays a servant’s heart and is someone who will work tirelessly to provide hope and comfort to those in our community who need support,” said Chris Palusky, CEO of Mel Trotter Ministries. “She is driven by God’s light to do impactful work and I’m confident she will strengthen our organization through compassion, collaboration, and communication.”
