Ahead of its worldwide release on August 14 via Dead Oceans, Phoebe Bridgers’ new album Lost Weekend will debut in full inside planetariums around the globe, including the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.
Each listening session pairs the album with one of two original visual accompaniments: a custom dome show designed by renowned night-sky photographer Babak Tafreshi, or a unique immersive laser show designed by Laser Fantasy. Both presentations offer their own atmospheric perspective that turns your first listen into a shared sonic and visual experience.
“The Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium is a versatile space, built for uniquely immersive shows like the Lost Weekend Planetarium Experience,” said Delany Lemke, Marketing Manager, Grand Rapids Public Museum. “These shows have the potential to bring new audiences into museums and planetariums, hubs of education and inspiration, like the Grand Rapids Public Museum and Chaffee Planetarium. It’s a cool move from such a big name like Phoebe Bridgers to partner with so many great institutions. I’m a big fan myself, and I already got my tickets. I can’t wait!”
Tickets are now available, with three shows per day from August 10 to August 14. Daily showtimes are at 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.
Presented in partnership with Spotify and COSM. This is not a performance, and Phoebe Bridgers will not be in attendance. For more information, visit https://tickets.grpm.org/events/d753eb76-b86a-b1da-f5b5-af2c5ba04c13.
