Holland-based communications, marketing, and research agency Boileau & Co. is celebrating its 20th anniversary in business.

Randy Boileau founded the business as a consultancy in 2005, leveraging the combined experience from a 25-year journalism and corporate communications career. Initially, a freelance PR business run in Randy’s home office, the company outgrew three offices before settling in the historic Holland Sentinel building on 8th Street in 2024. Boileau & Co. now employs a team of 15 and serves diverse organizations locally and internationally.

Randy transitioned the business to his son Vince Boileau in 2019, who soon invited his brother Erich and Leanne Schaeffer, a long-time employee of the firm, to be partners.

“Two things were foundational for me in the way I wanted to run this business,” said Randy. “First was that we would only do business with people we wanted to work with – people who understood the value of strong, effective communications. Second was to always have the big picture in mind. Every piece of advice we give, every action we take on behalf of a client must tie directly to the goals of the client’s organization and what they need to achieve.”

As it marks its 20th Anniversary, Boileau & Co. continues to diversify and evolve its services. The business recently rolled out dedicated services for market research, employee experience, and community engagement.

“A lot has changed in the storytelling business. Even ChatGPT can tell a pretty good story,” said Vince Boileau, managing partner. “But the making and telling of stories is intrinsic to the human experience. It’s how we create understanding for ourselves and others. So, I’m grateful there will always be a place for masterful communicators, and I remain excited about how technology will continue to shape it.”
