Saugatuck Township reopens renovated dog park

Community members and their dogs celebrated the reopening of the renovated Tails N’ Trails Dog Park during Saugatuck Township’s Dog Days of Summer event on Sept. 24. As Saugatuck Township’s only dog park, Tails N’ Trails provides a unique recreational space for residents and their dogs. The property features 39.5 acres of trails and natural areas, including a five-acre fenced dog park where dogs can exercise and explore off-leash.
Approximately $160,000 was invested in improvements to Tails N’ Trails, funded exclusively through the Saugatuck Township Parks Millage, approved by Township voters in 2022. The project is a tangible result of residents’ support for continued investment in the Township’s parks and recreational spaces.
Recent improvements to the dog park are designed to enhance accessibility, usability, and the overall experience for residents and their dogs. The project is part of the Township’s broader effort to maintain and enhance recreational opportunities while ensuring existing public spaces remain welcoming, accessible, and functional for the community.
