Gull Meadow Farms will host Sunflower Days, its annual celebration of five acres of brilliantly colored sunflowers and zinnias. Taking place July 30 through Aug. 16 at 8544 Gull Road in Richland, event organizers promise “more flowers, more moments to capture, and more reasons to gather with those who matter most.”
With more than two dozen varieties of sunflowers and zinnias—and, for the first time this year, gladiolus—visitors can stroll through the blooms and enjoy more than 15 photo opportunities designed for families, friends and couples looking to capture lasting memories.
"Our vision for the farm is to Make Togetherness Fun, and that's exactly what Sunflower Days is all about. The flowers may be what brings people to the farm, but spending time with one another, getting some great photos and creating lasting memories is what it's all about. If our guests have a great time with one another we've accomplished our goal," said Justin Wendzel, Owner, Gull Meadow Farms.
Admission includes access to the farm’s activity area and relaxing wagon rides to the flower fields. Guests can explore more than 15 photo opportunities, enjoy farm-brewed hard cider, shop the market featuring artisan goods, Midwest brands, baked goods and Gull Meadow’s famous donuts with exclusive summer flavors, and purchase smoked BBQ, specialty hot dogs, fresh-squeezed lemonade and other seasonal favorites. Buckets of blooms and mason jars filled with freshly cut flowers will also be available for purchase.
The season will also feature two special events. Golden Hour will take place July 31 and Aug. 1 from 6-8 p.m., offering guests the opportunity to capture the magic of sunset with a wagon ride, one u-cut sunflower and access to all photo opportunities. Tickets are limited to provide a more relaxed experience.
Sips + Stems, an adults-only event for guests 18 and older, will be held Aug. 6 and 7 from 6-8 p.m. Visitors can stroll the sunflower fields with a glass of farm-brewed hard cider, wine or fresh-squeezed lemonade. Admission includes a wagon ride, one u-cut sunflower and access to all photo opportunities, with drinks, BBQ and specialty hot dogs available for purchase.
