Health leaders join regional effort to strengthen workforce

Jessie Exoo, Manager of Employee Experience at Hope Network, and Tim Wiseman, Director of Talent Attraction – Clinical and Contingent Labor at Corewell Health, have been appointed to the West Michigan Health Careers Council (WMHCC), a West Michigan Works! Industry Talent Council. The new members bring additional expertise in employee engagement, workforce development, talent attraction and healthcare recruitment to the employer-led collaborative.
Healthcare businesses and educators, as well as workforce development and economic development organizations work together on the council to meet West Michigan’s healthcare talent needs. In collaboration with regional partners, the council encourages individuals to consider healthcare careers, advances demand-driven education and training pathways, supports efforts to retain skilled healthcare employees and promotes industry outreach.
“Jessie and Tim bring complementary experience addressing healthcare workforce needs, from employee engagement and retention to recruitment and talent development,” said Brad Sims, industry council lead, West Michigan Works!. “Their perspectives will strengthen the council’s work to expand career pathways, develop talent and help healthcare employers build and retain the workforce our region needs.”
Exoo serves as manager of employee experience at Hope Network, where she leads initiatives focused on employee engagement, workforce pathway development, data-informed decision-making and cross-department collaboration. She brings experience building workforce partnerships and creating sustainable career pathways, with an emphasis on collaboration among healthcare employers, educational institutions and workforce development organizations to address talent shortages and prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals.
“I’m excited to represent Hope Network and contribute to the council’s efforts to strengthen and grow the healthcare workforce in our communities,” said Exoo. “Expanding access to meaningful career pathways is essential to the health of current and future generations.”
Wiseman serves as director of talent attraction – clinical and contingent labor at Corewell Health, where he provides leadership for clinical recruitment, contingent workforce strategy and talent attraction initiatives. His experience in healthcare workforce planning, talent acquisition and employee career development, along with his interest in sharing best practices and exploring innovative workforce solutions, will support WMHCC’s efforts to build a strong, sustainable healthcare talent pipeline.
