A new Grand Rapids–based app is aiming to change the networking game. The BudE System is a new networking app designed to help professionals create meaningful, compatible connections without the awkwardness or inefficiency of traditional networking events.

Founded by Jeff Hill, The BudE System was inspired by years of experience navigating the inefficiencies of traditional networking models.

“The BudE System is built for people who want networking to feel natural again,” said Hill, who has been actively networking for over 25 years. “Instead of relying on chance encounters or overwhelming events, this tool helps people connect with intention. They can then collaborate, go to intimidating events together, and work on mutual goals.”

The BudE System uses a human-written algorithm that considers users’ professional interests, affiliations, personal hobbies, and, most importantly, their networking goals.

Key features of The BudE System include personalized connection recommendations based on shared goals, interests, organizations, and affiliations; event suggestions and attendance indicators curated weekly to foster real-world opportunities to meet; and mission-, vision-, and purpose-driven profiles that help users build their professional network with clarity and intention.

Hill said the idea for the platform grew out of his own experience discovering what networking could look like when approached with shared purpose. “When I started bringing friends and colleagues to events, networking became strategic and fun. We introduced each other to collaborators and clients, worked the room together, and made real connections that turned into opportunities.”

The BudE System is available at https://www.networkingbude.com/.
