Grand Rapids Civic Theatre and Broadway Grand Rapids are teaming up for Lip Sync Battle 2025: Rock of Ages vs. & Juliet. The on-stage showdown will take place Tuesday, August 19, at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. Event organizers are promising a high-energy evening of music, performance, and community fun.

The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with mingling, drinks, and small bites prepared by Chefs Tommy Fitzgerald and Jenna Arcidiacono. Guests can enjoy the pre-show social until 6:30 p.m., when the lip sync battle begins on stage.

Community members and theatre performers will go head-to-head, delivering their best renditions of hits from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. Audience applause will determine the winners. The event also offers a first look at two of the biggest musicals coming to Grand Rapids this season: Rock of Ages and & Juliet, along with a sneak peek at both organizations’ full upcoming season lineups.

“Help us build excitement in West Michigan for the upcoming seasons of Grand Rapids Civic Theatre and Broadway Grand Rapids,” said Jennifer Pascua, Vice President of Marketing & Community Engagement at Broadway Grand Rapids.

Lip sync participants include Michelle Dunaway, Erin Robere, Matt Lauria, Morgan Foster, Michelle McCormick, Julianne Howe-Bouswens, Tom Hillen, Joey Parks, Lauren Smith, Maddie Jones, Jenna Arcidiacono, and Tommy Fitzgerald.
