Airport welcomes new manager

Holland-based West Michigan Regional Airport (WMRA) announced the appointment of Matthew Neyens as the new Airport Manager. Neyens will oversee daily operations and assist the Authority Board in the continued strategic development of the airport.

“WMRA plays a key role in supporting West Michigan’s economy, facilitating thousands of jobs and making our region an attractive place for businesses to operate,” said Chuck Murray, Authority Board Chair. “We are excited to welcome Matt to the airport, and we’re looking forward to seeing his leadership advance the airport and support West Michigan aviation needs.”

Neyens brings over nine years of experience in managing complex airport environments to his role as Airport Manager. Most recently, he served as the Airport Operations Manager at Denver International Airport. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Science and Administration from Western Michigan University.

“I’m honored to step into this role and excited to serve the West Michigan community,” said Neyens. “This airport plays an important role in connecting businesses, families and emergency services. I look forward to working with the Authority to maintain our high standards for safety and service.”

Neyens will work closely with airport staff, the Authority Board and community partners to continue WMRA's mission of providing safe and efficient aviation services.
