Beer City Open pickleball tournament returns to Grand Rapids

The Grand Rapids Pickleball Club has announced the return of the Grand Rapids Beer City Open Pickleball Championships, which will be held July 8 through July 13 at Belknap Park. Presented by title sponsor and official hotel partner AHC Hospitality, the tournament has grown into one of the most prestigious pickleball events in the world, hosting the Major League Pickleball (MLP) Edward Jones Mid-Season Tournament.
The Beer City Open is the only event of the 2025 Major League Pickleball season where all 22 professional teams compete. Beer City Open will also welcome over 1,000 amateur players from 36 U.S. states and Canada.

This evolution highlights the sport's growth and Grand Rapids' emergence as a premier host city," says Andrea Remynse Koop, Beer City Open Tournament Director and nationally renowned professional pickleball player.
Fans can easily purchase tickets online through TIXR, Major League Pickleball's official ticket partner. A Grounds Pass is $20 for Thursday and Friday and $30 for Saturday and Sunday, including fees. Children ages eight and under are free. Tuesday and Wednesday remain free and open to the public, offering fans the opportunity to watch early amateur matches and professional practice rounds.
Beyond the court, the tournament grounds will feature a festive, family-friendly atmosphere with local food trucks (Pizza Parliament, Crepes by the Lakes, 616 Kabob, and more), a New Belgium Brewery beer garden, a Pepsi refreshment center, and a Vendor Village from top pickleball brands. Outside food and beverages are permitted.
