The West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology (WMCAT) will host its 20 Years + Counting Anniversary Party on Oct. 16 to celebrate two decades of programs focused on arts, technology, and workforce development.

The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at WMCAT, 614 First St. NW, Suite 300. The open-house celebration will feature food, beverages, live music, hands-on creative activities, a photo booth, and an exhibition of work by Teen Arts + Tech alums. Tickets are $35, and guests must be 21 or older.

Proceeds from the event will support WMCAT’s mission to provide equitable access to opportunity for individuals and families in Kent County. Since its founding in 2005, WMCAT has offered visual arts and digital media programs for youth as well as workforce development training for adults.

“We are excited to celebrate the people, partners, and community who have ensured that equitable access to opportunity is available to individuals and families in Kent County. For 20 years, WMCAT has worked to create a culture of opportunity where people can make social and economic progress in their lives and in our community. This milestone is about pausing to reflect on the past and re-imagining the next 20 years of impact—together,” said Jamon Alexander, president and CEO of WMCAT.

WMCAT’s mission is to provide a culture of opportunity for people to make social and economic progress in their lives and community. The nonprofit fulfills this mission through visual arts and digital media engagement with young people, and workforce development with adults.
