Downtown Holland will host its annual Fall Fest on Oct. 3 and Oct. 4, featuring two days of seasonal activities organized with the Holland Farmers Market, Tulip Time and Windmill Island Gardens. The festival includes professional pumpkin carving, children’s activities, community tulip planting, an artisan market, hayrides, and a Touch a Truck event. Sponsors include Courtyard Marriott and Fris Supply Shop.
“The entire community is invited to join us in Downtown Holland for our annual Fall Fest to celebrate everything there is to love about the season,” said Kara de Alvare, Downtown Holland Marketing Coordinator. “With a variety of fun activities planned throughout all of Downtown Holland with our incredible community partners, Fall Fest truly offers something for everyone.”
Fall Fest begins Oct. 3 with community tulip planting from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Window on the Waterfront, organized by Tulip Time. Volunteers can register at tuliptime.com to help plant 75,000 tulip bulbs that will bloom during the 2026 Tulip Time Festival. Additional planting will take place Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Fall Fest Artisan Market, also hosted by Tulip Time, will be held Oct. 3 from 2 to 7 p.m. and Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Holland Civic Center Place. More than 65 artisans will sell handmade jewelry, décor, clothing, artwork, and specialty foods.
The Holland Farmers Market will be open Oct. 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with seasonal produce and goods. Children’s activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. include $1 pumpkin painting, free barrel rides, and fall games. Professionally carved pumpkins will also be displayed.
Windmill Island Gardens will host its first Touch a Truck event Oct. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, while children 15 and under are free. The site’s Dutch attractions, hayrides, and historic carousel will also be open.
Professional pumpkin carving is scheduled on 8th Street from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 3 and from noon to 7 p.m. Oct. 4. Carvers include Chad Hartson, Danny Kissel, Dean Murray, Greg Butauski, Greg Demaline, and Maryse Swanson. Giant pumpkin displays, street performers, and extended hours in the Downtown Holland Social District will round out the activities.
