Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation is expanding its impact through a new partnership with Carle Health. Beginning this January, patients across central Illinois will gain greater access to enhanced inpatient rehabilitation services. Together, Mary Free Bed and Carle Health aim to improve patient outcomes and enhance the inpatient rehab experience through advanced technology, modern treatment approaches, and compassionate, community-based care.

Patients will continue to experience the compassionate and individualized care they expect from Carle Health providers and team members, with the world-class specialty experience in rehabilitation services of Mary Free Bed. This will be a first-of-its-kind collaboration in central Illinois, bringing together two nonprofit healthcare providers to serve more community members. The partnership includes three locations: Carle Foundation Hospital, Carle BroMenn Medical Center, and Carle Health Proctor Hospital.

"Partnerships work best when they're rooted in shared values," said Kent Riddle, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation. "By joining forces with Carle Health, we're ensuring patients receive compassionate and expert rehabilitative care that provides patients with hope and freedom for their future."

With more than 130 years of specialized expertise, their patient-centered approach to care aligns seamlessly with Carle Health's mission to advance collaborative efforts that improve health outcomes.

"As part of our commitment to serving the region with high-quality healthcare, this is the first step toward our vision to expand inpatient rehab services to meet the growing need," said James C. Leonard, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer, Carle Health. "Partnering with Mary Free Bed allows the patients we serve to continue to see the providers they know and trust while bringing advanced knowledge and proven care models to support a better experience for everyone."
