Mel Trotter Ministries, the largest provider of services to people experiencing hunger and homelessness in West Michigan, has opened a new thrift store in Hudsonville. The new retail and donation center is located at 5221 Cherry Avenue near the intersection of Chicago Drive and 36th Avenue. It’s the seventh thrift store now in operation by Mel Trotter Ministries and will employ 14 people.
“We’re very excited to add this new thrift store location in Hudsonville,” said Chris Palusky, CEO, Mel Trotter Ministries. “We’re constantly looking for ways to enhance our services to the region and bring the compassion of Jesus Christ to our neighbors in need. The addition of this new store will allow us to more effectively serve people in the Hudsonville area, and offer quality items for families needing affordable clothing and home goods.”
The 13,475 square-foot store will also serve as a drop-off center for community members looking to donate their new or gently used items.
Proceeds generated through retail sales help cover the costs of services offered by Mel Trotter Ministries, including the operation of the main shelter, recovery programs, job training, and housing programs.
